Dr. Michael Phillips, MD

Dr. Phillips was also among the first 50 physicians in the nation trained to implant the Vertiflex® Superion® indirect decompression spacer for lumbar spinal stenosis. His advanced skill set includes spinal cord stimulation, regenerative therapies such as stem cell and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections, and precision-guided interventions designed to restore movement, reduce pain, and improve quality of life.
Beyond his clinical expertise, Dr. Phillips has held several leadership roles, serving on executive boards and medical executive committees and as medical director for multiple respected surgery centers throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex.
Education & Training
A proud Texas native, Dr. Phillips grew up in Stamford, near Abilene. He earned his Bachelor of Science with honors from Texas Tech University in Lubbock and his Doctor of Medicine from Texas Tech University School of Medicine.
He went on to complete his internship in internal medicine and residency in anesthesiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where he served as chief resident.
Dr. Phillips is board certified in anesthesiology, a diplomate of the American Board of Pain Medicine, and an active member of several leading medical organizations, including the American Academy of Pain Medicine, International Spine Intervention Society, American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.
